CHESTER, Pa.- The Stevenson University field hockey team fell, 5-2 at Widener University, Saturday afternoon at Edith R. Dixon Field.

• Widener dominated the first quarter tallying seven shots and six corners. 
• Rachel Barker totaled two saves within the first three minutes of the game. 
• In the 12th minute, Widener got on the board first. 

• Widener again started off strong as they scored their second goal of the game in the first two minutes of the quarter. 
• Six minutes later Widener scored another goal to extend their lead, 3-0. 

• Widener again came in hot to start the second half as they scored their fourth goal in the 33rd minute. 
• In the 38th minute, Widener continued to hold possession as they scored their final and fifth goal of the game. 
• In the 40th minute, the Mustangs scored their first goal of the game after a corner put in by Veronica Maring. Alexandra Yates tallied her first collegiate goal. 
• With two minutes left in the third quarter, Stevenson continued to hold possession as Macy Kosanovich took a shot on goal but it was saved by the Widener goalie. 

• The Mustangs kept hold of the ball for a majority of the final quarter as they tallied six shots. 
• On the final play of the game in the 60th minute, the Mustangs were awarded a corner. With Maring on the insertion, she passed the ball to Riley Sullivan for a goal. 

• Mustang goalie Barker tallied nine saves in goal. 
• Widener held a 20-8 advantage in shots. 
• Widener also held an 11-6 advantage in corners. 
• Yates and Sullivan each scored for the Mustangs while Maring added her fifth assist of the season. 
• Stevenson falls, 4-6, 1-2 MAC Commonwealth while Widener advances to 10-2, 2-1 MAC Commonwealth. 

• The Mustangs will travel to York (Pa.), Wednesday, October 13th for a 4:00 PM start.
