Mustangs Split Tri-Match with Cabrini and Misericordia

RADNOR, Pa.- Mustangs fall, 3-2 at Cabrini before defeating Misericordia, 3-2 in final regular-season matches. 

  • Cabrini started off with an early 5-7 lead, following a Cavalier kill. 
  • Stevenson and Cabrini traded points for a bit until the Cavaliers picked up four consecutive points to lead, 14-19. 
  • The Mustangs picked up the next two following two kills from Mackenzie Belvins. 
  • Stevenson couldn't hang on as they fell, 20-25 in set one. 
  • Set two was different for the Mustangs as they started off with a 10-9 after a service ace from Sarah Straub sandwiched between kills from Shannon Baily and Darian Dildy
  • Stevenson picked up three more points in a row after Blevins served up an ace. 
  • The teams went back and forth until the Mustangs jumped ahead with three points in a row to secure the 25-21 win. Straub and Piper Connors smacked down kill to finish the set. 
  • Stevenson really got things rolling in set three. The Mustangs led 10-7 midway through the set following a Blevins kill. 
  • The Mustangs jumped ahead even more as Stevenson added three more points after a service ace from Emily Pellini
  • Cabrini came within four of Stevenson but the Mustangs finished the set with the final two points to win, 25-16. 
  • The Mustangs started off slow in set four as they trailed 8-12 after Connors smacked down a kill. 
  • Stevenson tallied four consecutive points as they took an 18-17 lead. 
  • The Mustangs couldn't keep up Cabrini as they ended up falling, 23-25. 
  • In the final set, Stevenson led, 4-2 after kills from Sophia Eckerd and Connors. 
  • The Cavaliers kept up with the Mustangs as they took over the lead at 10-11 after three consecutive points. 
  •  Stevenson tied things up at 15 to force extra points to decide the set. The Mustangs added four of the final ten points, ultimately falling, 19-21. 

  • Stevenson started off set one strong, taking a 15-7 lead over Misericordia. The Mustangs put up five consecutive points to take the lead. 
  • Misericordia tallied three points in a row but the Mustangs continued to lead, 18-12. 
  • The Mustangs kept things rolling as they tallied four points in a row following, kills from Straub and Haley Hoover and a service ace from Olivia Simon
  • Stevenson finished off the set with the final two points to win, 25-13 after a kill from Staub. 
  • The Mustangs jumped ahead 7-0 in the second set.
  • Misericordia picked up two points before Stevenson added four points in a row. Two Cougar errors and a kill from Eckerd and a service ace from Kayla Vaeth put the Mustangs up, 14-2. 
  • The Cougars came within ten as they totaled three consecutive points. The Mustangs picked up another point before Misericordia snuck in three more points. 
  • The Mustangs were awarded the final point on a Misericordia error, 25-19. 
  • Set three was different for the Mustangs as Misericordia went ahead 1-5 to start. 
  • Stevenson answered back to tie things up at five with three points in a row following, a kill from Rileigh Kimball
  • Misericordia really picked up their momentum as they racked up six consecutive points 24-16. Stevenson picked up one final point after a Taylor Jones kill before the Cougars took the set 25-17. 
  • Set four saw the two teams in a back-and-forth affair to start until Stevenson picked up five points in a row to take a 7-6 lead.
  • The Mustangs added seven points in a row to come with one of Misericordia at 21-22. 
  • The Cougars tallied the final three points to win, 21-25. 
  • In the final set, Stevenson went up 5-1 after kills from Eckerd and Dildy. 
  • The Mustangs jump ahead even more as they picked up three consecutive points to go up 10-3. 
  • For the final points, the two teams traded points before Stevenson ultimately won, 15-9 after Eckerd smacked down the final kill.

  • Stevenson drops their first match of October as they fall to, 24-5 overall while Cabrini advances to 11-17. 
  • Eckerd racked up an impressive 22 kills while hitting .474. Eckerd's 22 kills are a career game-high. 
  • Blevins totaled 14 kills while hitting .353. She also added 35 assists, two service aces, ten digs, and three block assists.
  • Connors recorded 11 kills (.29) and 12 digs. 
  • Against Misericordia, Eckerd put up 16 kills (.393).
