ANGOLA, In.- The Stevenson women's ice hockey team fell, 5-1 at Trine, Friday evening in their season opener. Trine held the Mustangs to a lone goal in the first period.

• Trine got things going early as they racked up four shots in a row in the first two minutes. 
• In the fourth minute, Trinity Barcless fired off a shot, and then a few seconds later, Ally Gibson fired off a shot but both were saved by Ryleigh Furlong.
• About 10 minutes later, Nikki Kendrick and Ashlyn Bray took shots on the net but both were saved. 
• A minute later, Trine got on the board first. 
• Three minutes later, KaliJo Zagula scored from Tea Ferrara and Paige Sullivan on a Stevenson power play. 

• Stevenson took a shot on another power play but it was saved. 
• Five minutes into the second period, Trine added their second goal of the game to lead, 2-1. Four minutes later, Trine added another goal to extend their lead, 3-1. 
• Karly Aguirre and Barcless took shots before the end of the period but both were unsuccessful. 

• The final period was similar to the first as Trine totaled 12 shots while holding the Mustangs to six. 
• In the final two minutes of the game, Trine two more goals to win, 5-1. 

• Trine outshot the Mustangs 39-23. 
• Kendrick, Barcless, and Gibson all lead the team with four shots apiece. Aguire added three shots of her own. 
• Olivia DeGuire made her collegiate debut in the net as she totaled 34 saves. 

• Stevenson is back in action tomorrow afternoon as they travel to Adrian at 3:00 PM.
