FREDERICK, Md.- The Stevenson women's volleyball team ran past the Hood College Blazers with a 3-0 sweep to move to 6-1 in the MAC Commonwealth.

• The Mustangs got off to a fast start as they racked up the first seven points following a Mackenzie Blevins service ace. 
• Hood picked up four points as the two teams traded points for a while until Stevenson picked up five in a row. A service ace from Makayla Thompson, two kills from Blevins, and two Blazer attack errors extended the Mustangs lead to 15-4. 
• Through the middle of the sets, the Mustangs and Blazers went back and forth 
• Blevins smacked down a kill to give Stevenson the lead by ten. The Mustangs led, 18-8. 
• Hood added two consecutive points on Mustang errors but the Blazers continued to trail, 22-11
• Following the Blazer's two points, the Mustangs added two more a row after a service ace from Kayla Vaeth. 
• Sophia Eckerd finished off the set with a kill to win 25-13. 

• Set two saw Hood jump ahead 1-9. The Mustangs continued to struggle getting points on the board as they fell behind, 3-12. 
• The Mustangs finally began to gain momentum as they tallied the next eight points. Kills from Eckerd, Piper Connors, Blevins, and Sarah Straub brought Stevenson with one at 11-12. 
• The Mustangs tied things up at 14 following a kill from Straub. Stevenson then picked up three more points to get their first lead of the set, 17-14. 
• The Mustangs continued to lead as the Blazers came within one after a Stevenson ball handling error. 
• Connors and Straub touched down the final two kills of the match to win, 25-22. 

• Set three was similar to set one as the Mustangs held a 5-0 lead to start. 
• Hood added three consecutive points to cut Stevenson's lead, 6-4. 
• The Mustangs answered back by adding four points of their own. Kills from Eckerd and Straub sandwiched in two kills from Rileigh Kimball to lead, 10-4. 
• The teams traded points through the rest of the set. Two kills from Lauryn Davis and a kill from Kimball gave the Mustangs a 21-12 lead. 
• Hood picked up a few more points but couldn't reach Stevenson as the Mustangs took set three, 25-16. 

• Stevenson continues to extend their win streak to 12 as they move to 23-4, 6-1 MAC Commonwealth. Hood falls to 3-17, 0-7 MAC Commonwealth. 
• The Mustangs recorded a .308 hitting percentage while Hood recorded a .067 hitting percentage. 
• Vaeth tallied 17 digs and five assists. 
• Blevins recorded eight kills while hitting .471. Blevins also added 10 assists. 
• Straub totaled nine kills while hitting .471
• Kimball added six kills (.667) and five digs. 

• The Mustangs travel to Widener this Thursday, October 28th at 7 PM as they finish up MAC Commonwealth play.
