OWINGS MILLS, Md.- The Stevenson University field hockey earned their first MAC Commonwealth win of the season over visiting Eastern, Saturday afternoon. The Mustangs defeated the Eagles, 3-1.

• The Mustangs started off the game hot as they fired off two shots within the first three minutes. One from Cristina Parrish and one from Kaitlin Karns. 
• With 20 seconds left in the quarter, the Mustangs were on the board.
• After a Mustang corner put in by Veronica Maring she passed the ball to Alexandra Yates who then passed it back allowing Maring to hit the back of the cage. 

• Eastern took control of the start of the second quarter as they tied up the game, 1-1 in the 18th minute. 
• The Mustangs were awarded two penalty corners and took a shot in the quarter but were unable to find the back of the cage. 

• The Eagles started off strong again as they held possession and were awarded three corners in the first eight minutes of the quarter. 
• In the 40th minute, Macy Kosanovich scored shortly after a corner. 
• The Mustangs held possession for the rest of the corner as they were awarded four more corners. 

• Two minutes into the final quarter, Rylee Leakway took advantage of an open shot after Eastern committed a foul. 
• Two minutes after the Mustangs goal, Karns fired off three consecutive shots but all were saved by the Eagles goalie. 

• Stevenson held the 15-4 advantage in shots. 
• The Mustangs also held the 12-7 advantage in corners. 
• It was a high penalty affair for both teams.  Eastern totaled, two yellow cards, and Stevenson totaled, two yellow cards and two green cards.
