Box Score ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa.- Thursday evening at Thompson Gymnasium, the Stevenson women's volleyball team defeated Elizabethtown, 3-1 in a non-conference match. The Mustang's win over the Blue Jays extends the team's winning streak to seven.
- Set one started off in a back and forth affair as the Mustangs started off leading, 9-8 after a kill from Shannon Baily.
- Elizabethtown took the next point to tie it up at 9-9.
- Stevenson then began to pull away as they recorded the next five points. Three of the five SU points were off of a Blue Jay error.
- The Mustangs took three more in a row following an Emily Pellini service ace to put the Mustangs up, 17-10.
- After a kill by Piper Connors, Elizabethtown totaled three consecutive points to close the gap on Stevenson's lead, 18-15.
- The Blue Jays couldn't get within reach of the Mustangs as Stevenson took the final two points to win the set, 25-19.
- The Mustangs started off strong with a 7-5 lead following an Elizabethtown attack error.
- Elizabethtown closed in on Stevenson and took an 8-10 lead after a Mustang attack error.
- Stevenson pulled away as they tallied four consecutive points after a kill by Sarah Straub and Mackenzie Blevins and two Blue Jay attack errors.
- Elizabethtown then tallied four points in a row. A Blue Jay kill put them within one of the Mustangs.
- It was a strong fight to the finish as the Mustangs won set two, 26-24 following two Elizabetown errors.
- Elizabethtown took charge of set three. Midway through the set, Elizabethtown led, 7-12.
- A kill from Connors put the Mustangs within three of Elizabethtown but the Blue Jays kept pulling away.
- Stevenson put up four consecutive points to make it 17-21 after a kill from Baily.
- The Mustangs couldn't come close as Elizabethtown closed out the set taking the final four points to win, 17-25.
- The Mustangs came back strong in set four to start off with a 6-3 lead following a Kayla Vaeth service ace.
- Elizabethtown picked up a few more points but Stevenson added three more in a row after kills by Blevins, Straub, and Baily. Stevenson led, 19-14.
- Elizabethtown got with one at 21-20 but they couldn't pick up the lead as the Mustangs grabbed the next three points after two kills by Darian Dildy.
- One final kill by Connors put the Mustangs on top, 25-22.
- The Mustangs move to 18-4 overall and win their seventh straight match tonight. Elizabethtown falls to 14-6 overall.
- The Mustangs and Blue Jays both tallied 48 kills.
- Blevins added ten kills, 20 assists, and ten digs.
- Vaeth tallied six assists and 17 digs.
- Dildy totaled ten kills while hitting .409 and also added three block assists.
- The Mustangs travel to Arcadia for a tri-match, this Saturday, October 16th. Stevenson will play Stockton at 1 PM and then will face Arcadia at 3 PM.
