Box Score REISTERSTOWN, Md. - The Stevenson men's ice hockey team scored four unanswered goals to erase a second period deficit as the Mustangs posted a, 6-3, United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) victory over Neumann Friday evening at Reisterstown Sportsplex.
- The Mustangs (14-5-1, 11-2-0 UCHC) held the early momentum, firing a pair of shots on net in the opening minute before going on the game's first power play at the 2:06 mark.
- With 6:36 remaining in the period, the Knights (7-14-0, 6-8-0 UCHC) earned their first power play attempt but saw their lone shot saved by freshman Ryan Kenny.
- Junior Houston Wilson recorded the lone shot on net over the final 2:45 while classmate Carl Lyden saw his shot hit off the crossbar.
- Just 58 seconds into the period, Lyden got the hosts on the board on assists from seniors Alfred Panelin-Borg and Dominic Brenza.
- The Mustangs took a, 2-0, lead 20 seconds later as freshman Chris Lee buried a goal on helpers by sophomore Luke Benitez and junior Aaron Murray.
- Neumann would answer with three straight power play goals over a 3:39 span, to take a, 3-2 lead at the 6:48 mark.
- Sophomore Ryan Patrick tied the game at, 3-3, after buring a rebound on a shot by freshman Austin Master on the power play. Murray picked up the secondary assist.
- The Mustangs went back on the power play just seven seconds after tying the game but Kyle Pantelone stopped all three shots on the hosts man advantage.
- At the 13:53 mark, Brenza reclaimed the lead for Stevenson, netting a four-on-four goal. Assists were credited to senior Christian Ripley and Murray.
- Just 19 seconds into the period and one second after Neumann's penalty expired that carried over from the second period, senior Nick Gray found the back of the net for a, 5-3 lead.
- Master recorded the lone assist on Gray's goal, his second helper of the game.
- At the 6:40 mark, Master became the sixth different Mustang to score getting assists from Gray and senior Chris Javens.
- Stevenson outshot Neumann, 39-34, including 17-10 in the second period.
- The Mustangs went 1-for-6 on the power play while the Knights finished 3-for-9.
- It is the eighth time this season the Mustangs have netted at least six goals, including the fourth time on home ice.
- Stevenson has won four of the last six contests versus Neumann to even the series at four wins apiece.
- Murray finished with three assists for the second time in his career, both coming versus Neumann.
- It is the eighth multi-point game of the season for Brenza, who finished with one goal and one assist.
