Box Score READING, Pa. - Stevenson women's ice hockey junior Trinity Barcless netted a pair of goals while a total of nine players recorded a point as the Mustangs skated to a, 5-1, United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) and Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) victory Friday evening at Body Zone Complex.
- The Mustangs (10-8-5, 7-5-3 UCHC) carried the early offensive momemtum before going on the game's first power play at the 4:20 mark.
- Stevenson fired three shots on net during the player advantage but Julia Beaven stood strong for the hosts.
- The visitors were quickly back on the power play and needed just 10 seconds this time as sophomore Tea Ferrara gave the Mustangs the lead on assists from senior Allyson Barlow and sophomore Breanna Crosson.
- At the 13:24 mark, Barcless doubled Stevenson's lead picking up helpers from sophomore Nikki Kendrick and freshman KaliJo Zagula.
- The visitors went on the power play for the third time with 3:52 remaining in the opening period but Beaven stopped all three shots on net.
- Barcless netted her second goal of the game just 2:44 into the period on assists from freshman Karly Aguirre and the second assist of the night by Zagula.
- The Golden Wolves (4-20-0, 0-16-0 UCHC) had their first power play attempt at the 4:19 mark yet saw both shots on net stopped by junior Annika Carlander.
- Stevenson had two more power play attempts in the middle frame and fired eight shots on net during those two player advantages.
- The first power play attempt of the third period for the Mustangs came at the 6:20 mark as Aguirre found the back of the net with 16 seconds remaining in the player advantage.
- Barcless picked up her third point with the assist while senior Jordan Pirrello recorded her first with the secondary helper.
- Alvernia got on the board at the 10:21 mark but the celebration was short lived as Stevenson responded just 18 seconds later.
- Sophomore Elizabeth Gaudreau scored for the second time in the last three games on assists from Pirrello and Barlow.
- Late in the period, the Mustangs killed off a pair of penalties with Carlander making a pair of saves.
- Stevenson outshot Alvernia, 67-5, the most shots by the Mustangs this season.
- The Mustangs finished 2-for-6 on the power play and 3-fof-3 on the penalty kill.
- The visitors also won 53 of the 83 face-offs, with Ferrara winning a game-high 17. Pirrello and Barcless won 14 and 13 face-offs, respectively.
- Kendrick pushed her point streak to eight games with an assist. Meanwhile, Aguirre, Barcless, and Pirrello all have a point in four straight games.
- Stevenson concludes the regular season on Saturday, February 22 when the Mustangs travel to Wilkes for a MAC contest beginning at 3:30 p.m.
