Box Score REISTERSTOWN, Md. - Elmira scored seven unanswered goals over the final two periods as the Stevenson men's ice hockey team dropped an, 8-2, United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) contest Friday evening at Reisterstown Sportsplex.
- The Soaring Eagles (16-7-1, 12-5-0 UCHC) got on the board first, scoring at the 11:26 mark. Kale Kane won the offensive zone face-off back to Harry Kramer who shot it from the blue line before it was deflected down by Kane.
- With 3:11 remaining in the period, the Mustangs (15-7-2, 12-4-1 UCHC) got the equalizer, as freshman Austin Master found the back of the net for the ninth time this season.
- Freshman Chris Lee played the puck ahead from the neutral zone before Master and junior Carl Lyden had a give-and-go that lead to the score.
- Neither team was penalized in the period while Elmira outshot the hosts, 11-6.
- Lee had a pair of blocked shots in the period.
- Just 1:18 into the period, sophomore Chad Watt gave the Mustangs the lead after skating the puck behind the goal and up towards the blue line before turning a firing a wrister on net.
- Junior Matt Cappucci and senior Justin Stelzer picked up the assists on the goal.
- The Soaring Eagles quickly responded down the other end, tying the game just 27 seconds later en route to four consecutive goals.
- Elmira's top line gave the visitors the lead with 13:11 remaining before a goal just past the midway point gave them a, 4-1 lead.
- The nation's best power play unit went to work for the first time at the 17:41 mark and needed just 38 seconds before Marty Kapoian netted his second goal of the game.
- Elmira went back on the power play with 18.7 seconds remaining in the period.
- The Soaring Eagles scored three late goals in the period, all coming in the final 2:48, including a second power play goal by Kapoian, who finished the night with a hat trick.
