Box Score CHESTER, Pa. - The Stevenson University women's basketball team fell to Widener on Saturday afternoon at Schwartz Athletic Center, 36-59. The Mustangs had a slow start in the first quarter after Junior Brandi Hall scored two three's in the first four and a half minutes and not scoring again until the second quarter.
- With just 10 seconds into the game, Brandi Hall hit a three to give Stevenson (10-10, 5-6 MAC Commonwealth) the lead, 3-0.
- Kyra Schenk and Erin Phelan each posted a layup at the 9:27 mark and 7:36 mark, respectively.
- Hall scored the only other points in the first quarter to hit another three at the 6:38 mark to make it a 6-4 game.
- At the 5:22 mark, a Madison Ireland three gave Widener (17-3, 9-2) a one-point lead, 7-6. Widener scored the next five points, 12-6, before heading into the second quarter
- An Olivia Coleman basket at the 9:45 mark brings the Mustangs within four of the Pride, 8-12.
- Phelan extends the Pride lead by six, 14-8, when she makes a basket at the 9:36 mark.
- After a Kellie Johnson layup at the 7:56 mark, the Pride scored the next nine points capped by a Jordan D'Ambrosiio layup at the 2:59 mark.
- A Hannah Crist basket at the 2:33 mark made it a 12-26 game.
- The Pride scored the final eight points in the last two and half minutes before heading into the break, 34-12.
- Coleman and Johnson each put up a basket at the 9:28 mark and 8:24 mark, respectively, to make the score 16-34.
- Four Kirstin Huggins free throws capped at the 2:04 mark made it a 21-39 game.
- Savana Herndon gave Stevenson two points, 23-39, when she collected a steal at the 1:36 mark to come back and make a basket at the 1:32 mark.
- With two seconds until the final quarter, Karleigh Leo made a jump shot to bring the Mustangs within 14 of the Pride, 25-39.
- A Hall layup at the 9:11 mark starts off the final quarter, 27-39.
- At the 6:49 mark, a Johnson three brought Stevenson within 11 of the Pride, 32-43.
- In a eight-point run by Widener capped by a Nicole Barnes free throw, Crist was able to put two points on the board at the 4:12 mark to make it a 34-50 game.
- With 1:52 left to play, Morgan Pennick made one free throw at the 1:52 mark and 1:18 mark, followed by a Phelan jump shot with 47 seconds left to play to make the final score, 36-59.
- Widener shot 42.3% overall while Stevenson shot 21.0%.
- Stevenson went 3-14 behind the arc while Widener went 4-11 at 36.4%.
- The Mustangs shot 7-14 at the free throw line while the Pride went 11-15.
- Widener outrebounded the guests 45-38.
- Widener had 18 turnovers while Stevenson had 17.
- Hall collected 10 points and had five steals.
- Coleman tallied 11 rebounds and two steals.
- Crist and Hall each had five rebounds while Johnson had seven points.
