Box Score WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - The Stevenson men's ice hockey team had 11 different players record a point, including five different goal scorers, as the 14th-ranked Mustangs posted a 6-2 United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) and Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) victory over King's (Pa.) Friday evening at Revolution Ice Centre.
- The Monarchs (2-15-1, 1-10-1 UCHC) got on the board just 1:09 into the contest as Alex Acosta scored on the hosts first shot of the game.
- Stevenson went on the game's first power play attempt at the 6:07 mark but saw its lone shot attempt blocked.
- Just 2:07 after their first power play opportunity ended, the Mustangs went back on the man advantage and scored with six seconds remaining on the penalty on a goal by junior Carl Lyden.
- Sophomore Luke Benitez gave the visitors a 2-1 lead just 17 seconds later on an assist from senior Colin Woods.
- The Mustangs (12-4-1, 9-1-0 UCHC) went on their fifth power play of the game just 1:18 into the contest.
- Senior Christian Ripley scored on the power play on assist from his linesmates, Lyden and senior Dominic Brenza, the second of the game for Brenza.
- Just past the midway point of the period, freshman Austin Master netted an even strength goal getting helpers from senior Nick Gray and sophomore Ryan Patrick.
- With 28 seconds remaining in the period, King's was whistled for its seventh penalty of the contest, givinf Stevenson 1:32 on the power play to start the third period.
- Master netted his second goal of the contest with 15 seconds remaining on the power play. Junior Aaron Murray picked up the lone assist.
- Senior Frank Pinho gave the visitors a 6-1 advantage at the 9:47 mark on assists from Master and Patrick.
- The Monarchs got their second goal of the game with just 1:49 remaining in regulation, marking the first time King's has scored more than one goal in a game versus Stevenson.
- Stevenson outshot King's, 54-11, and won 45 of the 74 face-offs.
- The Mustangs finished 3-for-10 on the power play and 2-for-2 on the penalty kill.
- With the win, the Mustangs improve to 6-0-0 all-time versus the Monarchs, and have outscored them 28-6.
- Brenza finished with two assists for his 13th career multi-assist game. He is just one point shy from tying his own record for points in a single season with 25.
- Patrick recorded his eighth-career multi-assist game, finishing with two assists, while Lyden had a goal and an assist for his 12th career multi-point game.
- Meanwhile, Master netted two goals for the second time this season and finished with a season-high three points.
- Stevenson returns to action on Saturday, February 1 when the Mustangs face Wilkes in a UCHC and MAC contest in a match-up of the league's top two teams. Puck drop is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
- The Mustangs return home on Friday, February 7 when the team hosts Neumann in UCHC action beginning at 7:00 p.m.
