Coleman, Johnson Record Double-Doubles In Seventh Straight Against Arcadia

GLENSIDE, Pa. - The Stevenson University women's basketball team collected a 68-52 MAC Commonwealth win on Saturday afternoon against Arcadia at Alumni Gymnasium. Junior Olivia Coleman and Sophomore Kellie Johnson lead the Mustangs to each post a double-double. Coleman had 13 points and 12 rebounds while Johnson had 12 rebounds and 10 points. Senior Hannah Crist lead the Mustangs with 14 points. 

 

  • Coleman posted a layup and a basket for Stevenson (10-8, 5-4 MAC Commonwealth) in the first minute and a half of play, 4-0.
  • Johnson continued the momentum for the Mustangs as she put up a layup at the 7:55 mark to extend the score, 6-0.
  • Arcadia (9-9, 4-5 MAC Commonwealth) put three on the board when Julia Makowski hit a three at the 7:40 mark, 3-6.
  • To cap an 8-7 run, Savana Herndon put up a layup at the 1:37 mark to make it a 16-12 game.
  • With 35 seconds left in the quarter, Brandi Hall puts a layup and one free throw up to extend the Mustangs lead by seven, 19-12.
  • Coleman posted a layup three seconds left in the quarter, 21-12.

  • A Makowski layup at the 9:14 mark shrunk the Mustangs lead by seven, 14-21.
  • Sydney Cyr hit a three for the Knights at the 8:11 mark to bring the game to 17-21.

  • 45 seconds into the final quarter, a Crist layup gave Stevenson a 56-35 lead.
  • Hall and Johnson each put up a layup at the 8:33 mark and 7:53 mark, making the score 60-37.
  • At the 2:36 mark, the Knights came within 20, 66-46, of Stevenson after a Sidney Barrer free throw.
  • After a Huggins layup, Arcadia responded with a Barrer layup at the 1:12 mark to come back within 20, 68-48.
