Box Score CHESTER, Pa. - The Stevenson University women's basketball team placed four in double figures led by Jonyae Curry's 23 points, but a late push by the Mustangs fell short as they fell 71-70 at Widener Saturday afternoon.
- Stevenson (11-12, 6-8 MAC Commonwealth) scored seven straight points to take an 11-6 lead on a Curry basket with 4:27 left in the opening frame.
- A jumper by Hannah Crist at the 2:12 mark extended the Mustang lead to eight, 16-8.
- Widener (18-5, 9-5) trailed 18-12 after one quarter.
- The Pride pulled within one, 24-23, with 5:25 left before halftime, before Brandi Hall responded with a three on Stevenson's next possession.
- Widener used a 12-3 run capped by a Devan Rimmer basket with 48 seconds to go to that gave the guests a six-point cushion, 36-30.
- Two free throws by Curry pulled Stevenson within four, but Widener scored with four seconds left to take a 38-32 lead into the locker room.
- Widener scored the first four points of the second half to go up 42-32.
- A three by Hall at the 3:19 mark capped an 11-4 run by Stevenson to pull it within three, 46-43.
- The Pride scored the next four points to go on top 50-43 with 47 seconds left on a conventional three-point play by Madison Ireland.
- The hosts took a 52-45 lead into the final frame.
- The Pride scored the first six points of the fourth to take a 13-point lead, 58-45.

- With 30 seconds to go, Rimmer made 1-of-2 at the line to put Widener up 71-64.
- A basket by Crist made it 71-66 with 18 seconds left, and after a steal by Crist, she made 1-of-2 at the line to make it 71-67 with nine seconds remaining.
- Curry came up with a steal on Widener's next possession, and after a timeout with three seconds to go, a Curry three accounted for the 71-70 final.
- Widener shot 50% for the game (30-60), while Stevenson shot 40.7% overall.
- The Mustangs were 7-18 (39%) from long range and took 14 more free throws, going 15-24 while Widener was 6-10 at the charity stripe.
- The Pride held a 40-32 rebound advantage, but Stevenson forced 21 Widener turnovers and had just 15 giveaways of its own.
- Curry finished 10-11 at the free throw line and totaled 23 points.
- Crist finished with 18 points, five rebounds and three assists. She matched a season high and was one shy of her career high.
