OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Junior Brooke Morris had the game's lone goal as the Stevenson field hockey team downed previously-unbeaten St. Mary's (Md.) 1-0 on Wednesday afternoon at Mustang Stadium.

• Stevenson (5-9) opened the contest with two shots in the sixth minute, a shot by junior Anna Bauer that was saved by St. Mary's (10-1) goalkeeper Kelbey Egerland and one by Morris that went wide.
• The Seahawks were able to add two shots on the board after a penalty corner in the 13th minute, Kelly Emge and Meghan Ronan both shot wide.

• Morris opened the second quarter by netting the lone goal of the game, her fourth for the season, 1:30 in.
• Three minutes later, senior Emma Adams sent a hard shot wide left.
• Moments later, teammate Kaitlin Karns sent another hard shot wide left.
• Mustang goalkeeper Kelsey Eure made a save on a hard shot by SMC's Veronica Maring.
• The Mustangs had three penalty corners in the first half.
• Mustangs lead in shots 6-3 for the first half.

• The Seahawks began the second half by Celina Kaufman taking a shot off a penalty corner that went wide.
• With five minutes remaining in the quarter, Maring took a shot saved by Eure.
• Four penalty corners ended the third quarter with the Seahawks posting four shots, with Eure saving the three on target.

• A wide shot by Karns led to a penalty corner and a shot by junior Jean Hart at 48:58 that went wide.
• St. Mary's generated a pair of penalty corners in the final 15 minutes.
• Stevenson was able to control the ball the final minutes to keep the final score 1-0.

• St. Mary's (Md.) outshot Stevenson 9-8.

• Stevenson handed St. Mary's its first loss of the season, and Morris' goal was just the sixth surrendered by the Seahawks all season.
