Box Score OWINGS MILLS, Md. - The Stevenson University women's volleyball team shook off a first-set setback to top Alvernia University 3-1 in MAC Commonwealth action Wednesday night at Owings Mills Gymnasium. The Mustangs wrapped up the top seed in next week's MAC Commonwealth Championship and at least a share of the conference's regular-season title. Set scored were 24-26, 25-4, 25-14, 25-8.
- Stevenson (25-2, 7-0 MAC Commonwealth), trailing 14-12, used a Shannon Baily kill and three straight Golden Wolves attack errors to take a 16-14 lead.
- With the set tied 20-20 an Alvernia (3-13, 1-6 MAC Commonwealth) attack error followed by a Katie Leftridge kill put the hosts up 22-20.
- Alvernia used four straight points to take a 24-22 lead and be serving for set point.
- Kills by Leftridge and Baily staved off set point and tied the set 24-24.
- Back-to-back kills by Taylor Suto and Olivia Frutiger closed out the set for the Golden Wolves, giving them a 1-0 lead.
- Leading 5-2, the Mustangs scored 14 straight points to take a 19-2 lead with Julie Nightwine serving.
- Nightwine had three service aces during the run.
- A kill by Simone Gest, followed by a block by Baily and Victoria Prokic closed out the set with the Mustangs winning 25-4.
- Stevenson hit .444 during the set, while Alvernia hit -.500.

- Leading 23-14, a Leftridge kill, followed by a Baily kill at the end of a long rally, closed out the set and put the Mustangs up 2-1.
- Stevenson scored 10 of the set's first 12 points and led 10-2 following a Leftridge service ace.
- The Mustangs extended the lead to 13-3 on another service ace, this one by Emily Pellini.
- Leading 22-8, Stevenson closed out the match with kills by Piper Connors and Rysleigh Reeves and an Alvernia attack error.
- Stevenson clinched the No. 1 seed in next week's MAC Commonwealth Championship, the eighth straight season it will be the tournament's top seed.
- The Mustangs also claimed at least a share of the MAC Commonwealth regular-season championship as it improved to 65-0 in conference regular-season play all-time.
- Leftridge led the Mustangs with 17 kills on .387 hitting and also had 12 digs.
- Prokic and Baily each had eight kills, with Prokic hitting .533 and Baily .400.
- Gest hit .583 and tallied 11 kills.
- The hosts totaled 12 service aces, with Pellini and Julie Nightwine recording three apiece.
- Nightwine had 23 assists and nine digs, while Caroline Dangel handed out 16 assists.
