OWINGS MILLS, Md. - The Stevenson field hockey team jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first quarter, but visiting Alvernia tied the game later in the period and scored the go-ahead goal in the third en route to a 2-1 MAC Commonwealth win at Mustang Stadium Saturday evening.

• Jean Hart had the first shot of the game for Stevenson (6-12, 2-4 MAC Commonwealth) off a penalty corner two minutes in, but it went wide.
• Alvernia (10-8, 3-3 MAC Commonwealth) generated six penalty corners in a four-minute span but came up empty.
• The Golden Wolves were awarded a penalty stroke just over eight minutes in, but it went wide left.
• Emma Adams recorded her sixth goal of the season on a breakaway at the 8:40 mark, with Kaitlin Karns assisting.
• Just 1:46 later, Alvernia tied the game on a goal by Morgan Mondschein, her 11th of the campaign.

• Alvernia put up six shots in the first four minutes, but Stevenson goalie Kelsey Eure had four saves and another shot hit the post.
• Olivia Lewis had a shot just past the 20-minute mark but it went wide.
• Eure had another save with just over three minutes left in the first half.
• The Golden Wolves had two penalty corners in the final three minutes.

• Hart had another shot after the Mustangs earned the first penalty corner of the second half 41 seconds in, but it went wide.
• Alvernia put three shots on goal in a two minute span, but Eure made all three stops.
• Just over five minutes into the quarter, Makenzie Smeigh gave the Golden Wolves a 2-1 lead.
• The Mustangs generated back-to-back penalty corners just past the seven-minute mark of the period.
• Alvernia put two shots on goal in the waning moments of the third but both were stopped by Eure.

• Eure turned aside another shot on goal with just under nine minutes left.
• Stevenson pulled Eure with just under six minutes left to add another field player.
• The Mustangs had one penalty corner the remainder of the game.

• Alvernia held a 27-5 shot advantage on the game.
• Eure finished with 15 saves, her second-highest total of the season.
• The Golden Wolves had 22 penalty corners to Stevenson's five.
• Before the game, Stevenson seniors Eure, Adams, Hope Nyarady and Ashli Glatfelter were honored.
