Six Score As Mustangs Blank Hood

FREDERICK, Md. - Six different players scored for the Stevenson field hockey team as it shutout Hood 6-0 in a MAC Commonwealth contest Wednesday afternoon at Thomas Athletic Field.

  • Stevenson (6-11, 2-3 MAC Commonwealth) got on the board with just over two minutes to go in the first quarter as Kaitlin Karns scored off a feed from Ashli Glatfelter.
  • The Mustangs outshot Hood (1-16, 0-6 MAC Commonwealth) 8-0 in the first quarter.

  • Karns and Cristina Parrish each put shots on goal around the 20 minute mark, but both were saved.
  • Following a penalty corner put into play by Brooke Morris, Camryn Kelly scored 10:44 into the second quarter to double the Stevenson lead.  Morris was credited with the assist.
  • Anna Bauer put the final shot on target of the first half just past the 27-minute mark, but it was saved by Hood goalie Nicole Bennett.

  • Stevenson scored twice in a span of 1:11 to extend its lead to 4-0.
  • At the 42:35 mark, Olivia Lewis scored to make it a 3-0 game, with Karns assisting.
  • In the 44th minute, Emma Adams added an unassisted tally to make it 4-0.
  • The Blazers had their lone shot of the game off a penalty corner in the 40th minute, but it was pushed wide.

  • Kendra Meyer scored at the 53:14 mark off a penalty corner, with Kelly and Morris each recording assists.
  • Cristina Parrish closed out the scoring with just over four minutes remaining.
  • Parrish had another shot as time expired, but it was wide.

  • Karns and Kelly led the Mustangs with a goal and an assist apiece, while Morris had a pair of assists.
  • Stevenson outshot Hood 25-1.
  • Kelly and Meyer each had their first collegiate goals.
  • For Karns, it was her team-leading 10th goal of the season.
  • The Mustangs generated a 10-1 edge in penalty corners.
  • Kelsey Eure went the first 53:31 in goal before giving way to Hope Nyarady, who completed the shutout, Stevenson's fifth of the season.

  • Stevenson hosts Alvernia for Senior Day on Saturday, October 26 at 5 pm in a MAC Commonwealth contest at Mustang Stadium.
