UTICA, N.Y. - Stevenson women's ice hockey senior Kellen Wittman tied the program record with her eighth power play goal of the season but the Mustangs dropped an United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) contest versus Utica, 5-2, Saturday afternoon at Adirondack Bank Center.

• The Pioneers (14-4, 11-2 UCHC) scored on their first shot of the game just 39 seconds into the contest as Kayla Dion gave the hosts the early lead.
• With 5:45 remaining in the period, the Mustangs (6-12-1, 3-8-1 UCHC) were whistled for the first penalty of the game.
• Fifty-six seconds into the power play, Georgiana Santullo gave Utica a 2-0 lead on the lone shot of the player advantage. Junior Carly McGee recorded a blocked shot during the penalty kill.
• At the 17:12 mark, Stevenson went on the power play. After a blocked shot by sophomore Casey Storck, junior Allyson Barlow fired a shot on net that was saved by Bria Reilly.
• One second after the power play expired, senior Cierra Siemasko found the back of the net to cut the deficit to one with 47 seconds remaining. Freshman Nikki Kendrick and junior Rachel Grewette picked up the assists.

• On the second power play attempt for the Mustangs, senior Maddy Ricci recorded the lone shot.
• The Pioneers recorded four the next five shots, including a goal by Caley Susitti with 7:57 remaining in the period to push the hosts lead to, 3-1.
• Stevenson killed off a penalty behind a pair of saves by junior Annie Smyth-Hammond before going on the power play 16 seconds later.
• Forty-five seconds into the power play and 35 seconds before intmerission, Wittman scored on assists from Siemasko and Ricci.

• Just 1:32 into the period, the Mustangs went on the power play but it was the Pioneers who recorded two shorthanded shots.
• Trailing 3-1, Stevenson pulled Smyth-Hammond for a sixth skater but Utica took advantage as Rebecca Brown scored on the empty net.
• Brown added a second goal with 30 seconds remaining.

• Utica outshot Stevenson, 29-23, including 10-2 in the third period.
• Both teams scored on the power play with the Mustangs going 1-for-4 and the Pioneers, 1-for-3.
• Utica scored on its first shot of the game in both games of the series.
• Wittman's eight power play goals are just one off the national lead in Division III. The senior has a goal in three straight games.
• It is the fifth multi-point game for Siemasko.

• Stevenson returns to action on Friday, February 1 when the Mustangs travel to Lebanon Valley for a UCHC and Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) contest beginning at 5:30 p.m.
• The Mustangs return home on Saturday, February 2 when the team hosts the Dutchmen to complete the home-and-home series. Puck drops at 5:15 p.m.
