REISTERSTOWN, Md. - Highlighted by a two-goal third period and a career-high 26 saves from sophomore Annika Carlander, the Stevenson women's ice hockey team posted a, 2-1, United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) victory Friday evening at Reisterstown Sportsplex.

• The hosts went on the offensive right off the opening face-off, firing a pair of shots on net in the opening minute.
• Stevenson (5-8-1, 3-5-1 UCHC) went on its first of nine power plays just 51 seconds into the game but did not record a shot. The team had three power play opportunities in the opening frame and recorded just one shot.
• With 5:23 remaining in the period, the Mustangs were whistled for their first of three penalties after too many players on the ice. Senior Maddy Ricci recorded a shorthanded shot while Carlander came up with a save.
• The Cougars (4-12-0, 1-8-0 UCHC) got on the board with 1:25 remaining before intermission after Sydney Collins snuck in the puck with traffic in front of the net.

• Behind two saves from Carlander, the Mustangs killed off the final 35 seconds of a first period penalty to get back to even strength.
• Stevenson went 0-for-5 on the power play in the period, including two five-on-three chances. The hosts had a 1:23 of five-on-three action before another 35 seconds just 13 seconds after the first opportunity expired.
• The Mustangs outshot Chatham, 19-9 in the frame but the Cougars won 16 of the 20 face-offs.

• Stevenson had 26 seconds remaining on a power play to start the period but earned another one just 48 seconds into the frame.
• The Mustangs capitalized as senior Cierra Siemasko scored on a rebound off a shot by freshman Nikki Kendrick. Senior Kellen Wittman picked up the secondary assist with a pass across the ice to Kendrick.
• Despite being outshot, 9-8, in the period, the hosts took its first lead of the game with 3:45 left in regulation as Kendrick stuffed home a loose puck in front. Siemasko and Wittman picked up the assists.
• Just 26 seconds after taking the lead, Stevenson was whistled for a penalty but Carlander made three saves while Siemasko came up with a blocked shot.
• Both goaltenders came up with a save in the final 30 seconds before Siemasko won the final face-off with 0.9 seconds remaining.

• Stevenson outshot Chatham, 38-27. The Mustangs finished 1-for-9 on the power play and 3-for-3 on the penalty kill.
• The Cougars won 39 of the 63 face-offs. Junior Jordan Pirrello went 7-for-13 at the dot.
• The Mustangs improve to 9-0-0 all-time versus Chatham. It is the sixth one-goal game in the series and first goal the Cougars have scored at Reisterstown Sportsplex.
• For Siemasko, it is her second multi-point game for versus Chatham. The senior has five points in three games.
• Wittman, who entered the game ranked third in points per game, has 11 points over her last four games.
• Kendrick, who posted her seventh multi-point game, has recorded a point in 10 of 14 games this season.
• Carlander earns her second straight victory behind a career-best 26 saves.

• Stevenson returns to action on Saturday, January 12 when the Mustangs host the second of a two-game UCHC series versus Chatham. Puck drop is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
