Box Score CHESTER, Pa. - The Stevenson University women's volleyball team shook off a slow start to take a 3-1 MAC Commonwealth victory at Widener Tuesday evening at the Schwartz Center. Set scores were 21-25, 25-14, 25-23, 25-22.
- There were eight ties before Widener (13-13, 3-2 MAC Commonwealth) used a 7-2 run to go up 18-13 on a Mustang attack error.
- Stevenson (12-11, 6-0 MAC Commonwealth) countered with a 6-2 spurt of its own and a kill by freshman Mackenzie Blevins pulled the Mustangs within one, 20-19.
- Up one, the Pride closed the set with four of the final five points and a Nicole Dorman kill gave the hosts a 1-0 lead.
- Leading 12-10, Stevenson used a 10-1 run to go up 22-11. Junior Darian Hileman had a pair of service aces and a kill during the run while senior Chelsea Ireland had two kills.
- Up 23-14, back-to-back kills by juniors Victoria Prokic and Katie Leftridge closed out the set.
- Stevenson hit .286 in the frame, while Widener had seven kills and seven attack errors.
- Widener jumped out to a 10-4 lead before six straight Mustang points tied the set 10-10.
- Down 19-18, Stevenson used four straight points, including a pair of Leftridge kills, to go up 22-19.
- The Pride cut Stevenson's lead to one twice, the last at 24-23, but a service error put the visitors up 2-1.
- A 6-1 run by Stevenson put it up 14-10 on a kill by junior setter Caroline Dangel.
