Box Score

ASTON, Pa. - For the third straight game, the Stevenson men's ice hockey team has been taken to overtime but for the second consecutive game the Mustangs fell as Neumann scored just 1:20 into the overtime period for a 3-2 ECAC West victory Friday evening at IceWorks.

The Mustangs (9-10-2, 4-6-1 ECAC West), who have played in seven overtime games this season, have dropped five of their last six games. The team has been held to two or fewer goals in all five of those losses while netting four goals in the lone win.

A power-play goal gave the Knights (13-6-2, 5-5-0 ECAC West) a 1-0 lead with just under eight minutes remaining in the opening period as Ryan Luiten scored his first of two goals in the game.

Freshman Tyler Slusarczyk netted his first goal since scoring four in the first seven games of the season to tie the game at 1-1 at the 7:19 mark of the second period. Junior Jordan Watt continued his streak with an assist and now has a point in 10 of his last 12 games.

The second assist was credited to freshman Jake McNamara who has a point in his last two games.

Junior Doug Rose gave Stevenson a 2-1 lead just 21 seconds into the third period as he netted a power-play goal from classmate Mike Davis. Daivs has seven points in his last four games.

Luiten scored his second power-play goal at the 11:44 mark to tie the game for Neumann before a third power-play goal in overtime by Johannes Sallila.

The Mustangs were outshot, 44-26 and were 1-for-6 on the power-play. The Knights also won 41 of the 67 face-offs.

Junior Jacob Caffrey finished with 41 saves, marking the fourth time he has recorded at least 40.

Stevenson returns to action on Saturday, February 4 when the Mustangs travel to Manhattanville for an ECAC West contest beginning at 7:00 p.m.
