OWINGS MILLS, Md. – The Stevenson University women's volleyball team downed Widener University 3-0 in MAC Commonwealth action Wednesday night at Owings Mills Gymnasium.  The win, the eighth in a row for the Mustangs, was by scores of 25-19, 25-13, 25-13.

Stevenson (20-1, 5-0 MAC Commonwealth) reached the 20-win mark for the eighth straight season and for the 10th time in 11 seasons while it extended its home winning streak to 15 and its MAC Commonwealth regular season record to 45-0.  The win also marked career win No. 299 for Stevenson head coach Dave Trumbo, who is 299-81 over those 11 seasons.

In the first set, Widener (6-14, 1-3 MAC Commonwealth) trailed 13-10 when the Mustangs scored the next four points to take a 17-10 lead on a kill by senior Annika Schwartz, in fact, Schwartz had three of the four points during the run.  The Pride made a run late to pull within 23-19, but a kill by sophomore Katie Leftridge and a Widener setting error closed out the frame.

Stevenson never trailed in the second set and opened up a 17-7 lead as a Schwartz kill capped six straight Mustang points.  Widener led just once, at 1-0 in the third set, as Stevenson jumped out to a 9-2 advantage and led 18-3 at one point.
