Box Score TOWSON, Md. - The Stevenson field hockey team had three different goal scorers and four different point scorers but it wasn't enough as the Mustangs fell on the road to local rival Goucher Wednesday evening at Beldon Field.
The Mustangs (1-3) scored a season-high three goals but allowed five goals for the second time this season. Both teams finished the game with 12 shots.
Senior Rosemarie Neiva and sophomore Katelyn Byram each scored their first goals of the season while sophomore Sara McVey tallied her team leading third of the year. Sophomore Alexis Young tallied her first assist of the year.
After the Gophers (3-2) took a 2-0 lead, Stevenson got back within one but that would be as close at the visitors would get as the two teams traded the next five goals, with the hosts striking last.
Stevenson returns to action on Saturday, September 17 when the Mustangs host a non-conference contest versus Shenandoah beginning at 7:30 p.m.
