REISTERSTOWN, Md. - Stevenson women's ice hockey sophomore Monica Pozuc scored the game-tying and game-winning goals as the Mustangs overcame a 2-1 deficit to post a 3-2 Colonial Hockey Conference victory Saturday evening at Reisterstown Sportsplex on Senior Day.

The Mustangs (21-3-1, 13-0-1 CHC), who posted their 10th straight win, finished unbeaten in the inaugural season in the Colonial Hockey Conference while improving to a perfect 11-0 at home. It was also the second win this season the Mustangs have come from behind and won.

The team also celebrated the program's inaugural class as Emma Sunness, Erin McLoughlin, Madison Lange, Tori Emoff, Rachel Martell, Sydney Hughes, Katie Abbott, Brooke Webber, Hannah Bienkowski, Sarah Modzelewski, McKenzie Taggart, Megan Alexander and Jessie Capanelli were honored in pregame ceremonies.

Stevenson did not record its first shot of the game until there was 6:08 remaining in the opening period. But the hosts were the first to get on the scoreboard as Capanelli scored her team leading fifth power play goal of the season.

Capanelli, who scored her 12th goal of the year, entered the season with 12 goals in her first three years combined. Alexander and Emof were credited with their sixth and 10th assists, respectively.

Trailing 1-0 late in the second period, the Kangaroos (7-17-1, 7-6-1 CHC) knotted the game at 1-1 with 2:46 remaining in the period of a slapshot by Margret Troiano. It was the first power play goal the Mustangs have allowed over the last nine games.

SUNY Canton took a 2-1 lead, 13 seconds after Stevenson was whistled for its sixth penalty. Noelle Niemiec saw her slapshot get past one of the best goalkeepers in Division III to give the Mustangs its first home deficit of the season and fourth all year.

With 28 seconds remaining in the Mustangs power play, Pozuc was able to tie the game at the 13:39 mark with assists from Abbott and sophomore Natalie Rosendahl. Rosendahl recorded a blocked shot in her third straight game and has six during that time.

Pozuc recorded her second multi-goal game of her career and first this season as she scored with 1:28 remaining in regulation. Abbott and sophomore Chelsea Blackburn each tallied an assist. Outside of the Mustangs three losses, the team has only trailed for 20:26.

It was the fourth game-wining goal for Pozuc this season and fourth multi-assist game for Abbott. Meanwhile, Blackburn has three assists over her last two games. Their line has combined for eight points over the last two games.

The Mustangs finished 2-for-6 on the power play while the Kangaroos were 2-for-5. It was the fifth time Stevenson has totaled at least two power play goals in a game. SUNY Canton held a 26-23 advantage in shots.

Modzelewski recorded her 17th win of the season after totaling 24 saves.

Stevenson will await the official seeding's for the upcoming Colonial Hockey Conference playoffs, which will be announced on Sunday, February 21.
