Wittman, Bruns Highlight Mustangs 13-0 Win Versus Daniel Webster

Box Score

TYNGSBORO, Mass. - Stevenson women's ice hockey sophomore Kellen Wittman recorded her first career hat trick while classmate Allie Bruns scored her first career goal as the Mustangs completed the weekend sweep with a 13-0 Colonial Hockey Conference victory at Daniel Webster Saturday evening.

The Mustangs (15-3-1, 7-0-1 CHC), who had 23 different players register a point in the series, recorded 86 shots and finished with 193 over the two games. The team also went unpenalized for the second time in program history and second time this season.

The win was also Stevenson's 10th shutout on the year and fourth for freshman Caitie Darosa who knocked away all four shots she faced. Three of the four wins for Darosa have come in conference play with the other win coming versus Division I Sacred Heart.

Wittman was the third player to record a hat trick in the two-game series versus the Eagles (0-16, 0-10 CHC) as freshman Genevieve McPherson and senior Madison Lange both finished with three goals in Friday nights win. Wittman, who scored all three of her goals in the second period, finished with four points on the night after collecting a third period assist.

Nine players finished with at least two points, including three apiece by sophomores Savannah Sommers and Chelsea Ellis who each tallied a goal and an assist.

Senior Brooke Webber finished with two goals while Lange and sophomore Monica Pozuc each dished out two assists. Seniors Erin McLoughlin and Tori Emoff as well as freshman Cierra Siemasko both recorded one goal and one assist.

Emoff has scored in three straight games, the longest goal streak in her career, and has recorded six points over that stretch.

The Mustangs were 1-for-2 on the power play as Sommers scored five seconds into the second period after Ellis won the face-off. The team finished the weekend 5-for-7 on the power play.

Stevenson returns to Reisterstown Sportsplex for the first time in 33 days when the Mustangs host a two-game conference series versus Salem St. beginning on Friday, February 5. Opening face-off is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
