TYNGSBORO, Mass. - Five different players scored their first career point, including a hat trick by freshman Genevieve McPherson, as the Stevenson women's ice hockey team broke six individual game records in a 17-0 Colonial Hockey Conference victory at Daniel Webster Friday evening.

The Mustangs (14-3-1, 6-0-1) set new single game records with 17 goals, 21 assists, 39 points, 107 shots and four power play goals while also posting their ninth shutout of the season. The shutout is also the fourth in conference play and sixth by senior Sarah Modzelewski.

The hat trick by McPherson was the fifth in program history before senior Madison Lange completed her own hat trick in the final minute of the game. It is the first time two players have tallied hat tricks in one game as the duo becomes the third and fourth players in program history to score three goals in a game.

Senior McKenzie Taggart recorded the program's first-ever hat trick during the 2012-13 season while sophomore Chelsea Blackburn has tallied three.

After tallying two goals in the opening frame, the first career tally by freshman Cierra Siemasko and the 70th career point by Taggart, Stevenson added a single period record with seven goals in the second before besting that with eight in the third.

Sophomore defenseman Natalie Rosendahl, who played her first game at center, notched her first career goal on a give-and-go with classmate Kellen Wittman to open the second period scoring. Senior Tori Emoff then scored in her second straight game on the program's first-ever goalie assist.

Senior Hannah Bienkowski gave the visitors a six goal lead as she was able to poke home her first career goal before Blackburn ended the middle frame with back-to-back goals.

McPherson tallied all three of her goals in the final frame while sophomore Samantha Madej scored twice in the period, including the first in her career. Madej and Blackburn each finished with five points on two goals and three assists, becoming the first players to tally more than four points in a game.

Taggart also finished with and three assists as the trio ties the program record for assists in a game. Meanwhile Emoff tied the program record with a plus-seven rating.

For the second time this season, the Mustangs scored three power play goals in a period, as the team finished 4-for-5 with a player advantage.

Michelle Davis led the Eagles, who had just six skaters, with 90 saves.

Stevenson concludes its two-game series with Daniel Webster on Saturday, January 30 beginning at 8:00 p.m.
