Box Score READING, Pa. - Stevenson field hockey freshman Sara McVey scored with 2:57 remaining in regulation as the Mustangs defeated Albright in the MAC Commonwealth opener for both teams Saturday afternoon at Shirk Stadium.
With the win, the Mustangs (3-6, 1-0 MAC Commonwealth) have won three-straight games and have outscored their opponents 9-1 in those games.
For McVey, it is her third-straight game-winner as she has totaled a point in her last four games. She has also totaled four goals in the last three games.
Following a penalty corner by freshman Ashley Meyer, classmate Marissa Hoffman fired a shot on net but it was knocked away by Aileen Taylor. But McVey was there to clean it up and put the visitors on the scoreboard.
