Box Score READING, Pa. - The Stevenson women's volleyball team needed just 59 minutes to take a straight-sets victory over Albright Tuesday evening at Bollman Center to extend the Mustangs MAC Commonwealth streak to 28 consecutive victories.
The Mustangs (9-2, 2-0 MACC), who have yet to drop a conference match in three-plus seasons since joining the league, held the Lions to a -.025 hitting percentage in a 25-10, 25-14, 25-22 victory.
Stevenson jumped out to a 13-2 advantage to start the first set, including three-straight points on services aces by sophomore Deanna Bradbury. Albright would get its deficit to under 10 at 18-9, but the Mustangs won seven of the final eight points to take the opening game.
The two teams battled back and forth in the second set, totaling seven ties. The Lions (3-4, 0-2 MACC) won their of four points to tie the set at 13-13, but Stevenson recorded 12 of the next 13 points, including ten-straight on the serve of sophomore Megan Hren.
Albright strung together seven-straight points in the third set to take a 13-9 lead but the Lions totaled nine attack errors the rest of the way. The hosts finished the match with 22 errors compared to just 20 kills.
Stevenson continued its strong service, totaling 13 service aces, including three by Bradbury and sophomore Dahila Duncan. It was the sixth time in 11 matches this season that the Mustangs have totaled at least 10 service aces.
Sophomore Lauren Weaver and junior Kristen Brooks combined for 16 kills in the game, while junior Sara Bollinger totaled 20 assists.
Stevenson returns to action on Saturday, September 19 when the Mustangs host a tri-match with Johns Hopkins and Mary Washington beginning at 11:00 a.m.
