FROSTBURG, Md. - The Stevenson women's volleyball team posted back-to-back sweeps over former CAC-rivals Frostburg State and St. Mary's (Md.) to close out the regular season with 13-straight wins Saturday afternoon at Bobcat Arena.
The Mustangs (26-7) posted a 25-12, 25-23, 25-18 win over host Frostburg State before recording a 25-16, 25-16, 25-15 win versus St. Mary's (Md.). Prior to the win streak, Stevenson had drop five of its previous eight after facing four ranked teams.
Sophomore Annika Schwartz led the way with a match-high 16 kills over the Bobcats (17-16) while also adding 10 digs. Schwartz hit .400 while the Mustangs recorded a .356 attack percentage as a team.
Sophomore Deanna Bradbury finished with 17 digs while junior Sara Bollinger added 41 assists, six digs, two kills and two service aces. Junior Kristen Brooks and freshman Moriah Savage each recorded eight kills.
The Mustangs needed only 32 kills in the win versus the Seahawks as St. Mary's (Md.) hit .000 for the match. Brooks and Savage each totaled a match-high nine kills while Schwartz added seven.
Bradbury totaled 16 digs and three service aces.
Stevenson returns to action on Wednesday, November 4 when the top-seeded Mustangs host a MAC Commonwealth semifinal contest versus the winner of No. 4 Widener and No. 5 Hood. Game time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
