Box Score 2 ST. DAVID'S, Pa. - The Stevenson women's volleyball team recorded just 25 kills as the Mustangs fell to 10th-ranked Eastern in straight-sets before rebounding with a 25-12, 25-23, 25-19 victory over DeSales Saturday afternoon in a Middle Atlantic Conference crossover.
The Mustangs (14-7) fell to 0-3 versus team's ranked in the top-20 this season with a 20-25, 11-25, 18-25 loss versus the host Eagles.
Stevenson totaled a -.026 attack percentage in the first two sets combined versus Eastern (17-3) as the Eagles recorded 23 kills and eight errors on 71 attempts. The Mustangs offense never got going as the team totaled nine service errors and 19 errors.
Junior Kelsey Stave finished with a season-high eight kills while sophomore Deanna Bradbury totaled 12 digs.
Senior Kara Anderson highlighted the win over the Bulldogs (11-7) with a career-high six service aces. Junior Kristen Brooks totaled a match-high 12 kills while sophomore Annika Schwartz finished with seven kills and 10 digs.
The Mustangs totaled a .556 attack percentage in the opening set, recording 16 kills and just one error.
Stevenson returns to action on Tuesday, October 6 when the Mustangs host a non-conference contest versus Catholic beginning at 7:00 p.m.
