OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Stevenson field hockey freshman Alexis Young scored twice as the Mustangs posted their fourth-straight victory with a 3-0 win over Arcadia in a MAC Commonwealth contest Saturday evening at Mustang Stadium.

The win was the Mustangs (8-7, 3-1 MAC Commonwealth) eighth win in their last nine games and third shutout this season. It is the team's fifth shutout in its last 10 home wins while Stevenson improved to 13-4 at home since the start of the 2014 season.

Young scored twice in the opening half, including the game-winner just 11:37 into the contest when she scored on a rebound attempt on the back post. Six minutes before the half, Young scored another unassisted tally on a similar play.

Freshman Marissa Hoffman scored her second goal of the season on an assist from classmate Ashley Meyer in the 56th minute to give the hosts a 3-0 advantage. Five different freshmen have recorded a point this season while combining for 42 points on 15 goals and 12 assists.

Young and freshman Sara McVey have totaled seven of the team's eight game-winning goals.

Junior Kim Hahr finished with three saves in her first career start.

The Mustangs held a 26-10 advantage in shots over the Knights (5-10, 0-4 MAC Commonwealth) while Arcadia held an 11-10 edge in penalty corners.

Stevenson, who is currently a game out of first place in the conference, returns to action on Tuesday, October 20 when the Mustangs travel to Wilson for a non-conference contest beginning at 4:00 p.m.
