Box Score OWINGS MILLS, Md. - The trio of junior Kristen Brooks, sophomore Lauren Weaver and freshman Moriah Savage combined for 35 kills as the Stevenson women's volleyball team posted a 25-18, 25-16, 16-25, 25-18 victory over Widener Tuesday evening at Owings Mills Gymnasium.
The Mustangs (19-7, 6-0 MAC Commonwealth) posted their sixth-straight victory and 32nd-straight conference win while improving to 63-7 inside Owings Mills Gymnasium. The team finished with 58 kills, one shy of its season-high.
Stevenson totaled a combined 33 kills in the opening two sets compared to just 11 for the Pride. Brooks totaled nine kills while sophomore Annika Schwartz added eight in the opening two games.
Hampered by eight errors in the third set, Widener (11-10, 2-3 MAC Commonwealth) closed the gap on the Mustangs and took the third set after recording a .258 attack percentage. Nicole Dorman totaled four kills in the set while Kelsey Lee added two service aces.
Behind three service aces by Schwartz and four team block assists, the Mustangs were able to close out the match in four sets. Junior Sara Bollinger finished with 47 assists.
Sophomore Deanna Bradbury posted a career-high 33 digs and has posted at least 20 digs in four of the last five matches, including 30-plus in two of those matches.
Brooks finished with her sixth double-double with 12 kills and 14 digs while Schwartz added 19 digs. Savage tied her career-high for the third time with 13 kills.
Stevenson returns to action on Wednesday, October 14 when the Mustangs host Gallaudet beginning at 7:00 p.m.
