Box Score BALTIMORE, Md. - Highlighted by a double double by sophomore Kristen Brooks, the Stevenson women's volleyball team posted a four-set victory over local rival Goucher, 25-8, 25-10, 17-25, 25-8 Friday evening in the Greg Giovannazzi Memorial Tournament at Goldfarb Gymnasium on the campus of Johns Hopkins.
The Mustangs (4-1) totaled a season-high .409 hitting percentage, just the 12th time in school history the team has hit above .400. In the three sets won, Stevenson gave up just 26 points.
Brooks totaled a match-high 14 kills to go along with her 13 digs. It marked the fourth time in the team's five matches that she has totaled double digit kills. She also totaled a match-high four service aces.
Freshman Lauren Weaver totaled 12 kills to match her career-high set two matches ago. Sophomore Kelsey Stave added a season-high 10 kills. The duo combined for 14 digs.
Senior Samantha Perillo added 13 digs to her record total and is 78 from 2,000. Meanwhile, sophomore Sara Bollinger totaled 31 assists and is four assists shy of moving into eighth place all-time.
Goucher was led by Hannah Kuehl who had a team-high 11 kills and Erika DiPasquale who had a match-high 17 digs.
Stevenson returns to action tomorrow, Saturday, September 6 when they take on host Johns Hopkins at 10:00 a.m. followed by Bridgewater (Va.) at 2:00 p.m.
