IMMACULATA, Pa. - Stevenson field hockey seniors Caitlin Dempsey and Alison Kagel, the team's top two leading scorers, each scored one goal apiece to lift the Mustangs to a 2-1 victory over Immaculata in a non-conference game Wednesday at Draper Walsh Stadium.

Stevenson (6-3) snapped its two-game losing streak and remained unbeaten in five all-time meetings against the Mighty Macs.

The Mustangs struck first just three minutes into the game when Kagel scored her sixth goal of the season.

The Mighty Macs answered with an unassisted goal by Ashley O'Donnell before Dempsey scored the game-winner with less than two minutes remaining before halftime. It was Dempsey's third game-winning goal of the season and the ninth of her career.

The goal was also Dempsey's eighth of the season, moving her into a tie for second place on the school's career list with 34. She is now just seven shy of the school record. She is also second all-time with 84 points.

Neither team scored for the remainder of the game as the two goalkeepers combined for 28 saves, including 14 in the second half. Sarah Pasternak totaled a season-high 20 saves for Immaculata as Stevenson outshot the Mighty Macs, 25-13.

Sophomore Gabriella Brooks totaled eight saves and moved into eighth-place on the school's career saves list with 131.

With 10 games remaining in the regular season, Stevenson needs just four wins to the school record set in 2008 and 2013. The Mustangs open Commonwealth Conference play at No. 13 Messiah on Saturday.
