Box Score ANNVILLE, Pa. - Highlighted by 30 digs by senior Samantha Perillo, the Stevenson women's volleyball ran its Commonwealth Conference record to 19-0 in three seasons as the Mustangs defeated Lebanon Valley 25-22, 25-14, 20-25, 25-13 Wednesday night at Sorrentino Gymnasium.
Despite hitting a season-low .113, the Mustangs (7-1, 1-0 MAC) won their sixth-straight match. It was just the third set the team has dropped in conference play since joining the league in 2012.
Sophomore Kristen Brooks totaled a team-high 10 kills and has totaled double-digit kills in five out of eight games this season. Senior Megan Miller added nine kills while freshmen Annika Schwartz and Lauren Weaver each had eight to round out a balanced attack.
Stevenson was also balanced defensively as Perillo was one of five Mustangs to total at least 10 digs. Schwartz added 20 digs which ties her career-high while Brooks, sophomore Sara Bollinger and freshman Deanna Bradbury combined for 31.
Brooks, Miller and sophomore Kelsey Stave totaled three blocks a piece as the Mustangs finished with a season-high 12 blocks. Meanwhile, Bollinger totaled 33 assists.
Perillo, who has recorded at least 30 digs for the eighth time, is 16 digs shy of 2,000 for her career.
The Dutchmen (7-2, 0-1 MAC) were led by Allie Garrett who totaled 25 digs and Greta Weidemoyer who finished with 13 kills. Lebanon Valley was held to a season-low .047 hitting percentage.
Stevenson will play its home opener on Saturday, September 13 when the Mustangs host a tri-match with Franklin & Marshall and St. Mary's (Md.) beginning at 10:00 a.m.
