Box Score OWINGS MILLS, Md. - The Stevenson women's basketball team will hold its annual cancer awareness game on Saturday, February 15 when the Mustangs host a Commonwealth Conference contest versus Albright at Owings Mills Gymnasium. The men's game begins at 1:00 p.m.
Normally, the Mustangs wear pink in conjunction with breast cancer awareness, but this year, the Mustangs look to change that tradition and instead raise awareness for bone cancer. After Stevenson women's basketball alum Samantha Murray '13 was diagnosed with bone cancer in August, both basketball teams thought it was important to honor this game to the fight against bone cancer.
To help commemorate the event, the men's and women's teams will wear yellow shooting shirts as well as yellow shoe laces. The first 50 students to arrive at Saturday's game will receive the same yellow shooting shirt and youth teams will scrimmage during halftime of both games with all four teams wearing yellow.
All fans are encouraged to wear yellow.
With four regular season games remaining, both teams are currently in fourth place in the conference standings. The top five make it to the conference tournament.
