ASHLAND, Va. - Sophomore Sara Tarbert totaled 16 points and 15 rebounds while seniors Kayleigh Guzek and Kayla Kelly combined for 27 points as the Stevenson women's basketball team posted a 66-45 victory over Bridgewater (Va.) Friday evening at Crenshaw Gymnasium on the campus of Randolph-Macon College.

With the win, the Mustangs (2-0) evened the all-time series at one apiece while starting the season with back-to-back wins for just the fourth time in the program's 20-year history.

Tied at 13 with 8:03 remaining in the first half, Stevenson would use a 17-7 run to close the half capped by a three-point basket by Guzek who scored the final five points of the half for the Mustangs.

Stevenson would push its lead to as many as 28 with 5:29 remaining in the second half following a three-point basket by junior Stephanie Martinez. The Eagles (1-1), who shot 41.7 percent from the field, attempted just 48 field goals compared to 73 for the Mustangs.

The Mustangs went to the free throw line 30 times, a mark that ranks 10th all-time, compared to just 12 for Bridgewater (Va.) Stevenson would also score 28 points off 24 Eagle turnovers. In just two games this season, the Mustangs have forced 63 turnovers.

Tarbert would also add three blocks, two assists and eight steals, the later ranking second all-time in a single game. Meanwhile, senior Ty Bender finished with six points, four steals and three assists.

Stevenson will face host Yellow Jackets in the Randolph-Macon Tip-Off tomorrow, November 22 beginning at 4:00 p.m.
