NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Stevenson women's volleyball trio of senior Megan Miller and freshmen Annika Schwartz and Lauren Weaver combined for 26 kills but Mustangs' season ever came to an end in the second round of the NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Championship with a 22-25, 25-22, 19-25, 19-25 loss to No. 9 Christopher Newport Saturday at the Freeman Center.

The Mustangs (30-6) hit just .114, the fifth lowest output this season. The team's 36 kills were also the lowest in matches that have gone four sets or longer.

Schwartz, who finished with nine kills and 19 digs, finished the final six matches averaging 13.2 digs per set. Meanwhile, sophomore Kristen Brooks finished with six kills and 10 digs and averaged 16.2 digs per set over the same six-game span.

Weaver tied her career-high with four block assists while also adding two digs. Sophomore Sara Bollinger totaled 33 assists and finishes the season with 1,191 which ranks third all-time.

Senior Samantha Perillo posted a game-high 27 digs while adding one service ace. The school's career leader in digs with 2,600, she also finished her career ranked second with 202 service aces, finishing seven shy of the record. For her efforts in the two tournament games, Perillo was named to the All-Tournament Team.

Miller finished with nine kills, two digs, one solo block and one block assist and finishes her career with a school record .298 hitting percentage and third with 282 total blocks.

The game was the last for Miller and Perillo who finish their career with a 134-16 record, three Commonwealth Conference Championships and four-straight appearances in the NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Championship, including an appearance in the regional finals a year ago.

The Captains (33-3), who advance to their fifth regional final in the last six years and will face No. 13 Eastern were led by Briana Sutton who totaled 14 kills and nine digs and Brooke Moore who finished with 18 digs.
