Box Score 2 OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Led by 19 kills and 42 digs by sophomore Kristen Brooks to Stevenson women's volleyball team posted a four set win over Muhlenberg before rallying for a five set victory versus Lynchburg Saturday afternoon at Owings Mills Gymnasium.
The Mustangs (27-5) defeated Muhlenberg 25-19, 17-25, 25-14, 25-23 before coming back from a two sets to one defecit versus Lynchburg, 20-25, 25-10, 20-25, 25-20, 15-5. Stevenson is 3-0 in five set matches this season.
In game one versus the Mules (24-7), Miller posted a match-high 14 kills while junior Kelly McKenzie totaled a career-high 12. The duo also combined for four total blocks and five digs. Meanwhile, Brooks finished with 11 kills, 15 digs and two block assists.
Senior Samantha Perillo totaled 27 digs while sophomore Sara Bollinger totaled 43 assists and three service aces. As a team, Stevenson finished with 11 service aces, the fifth time this season the team has totaled at least 10. Junior Kara Anderson totaled three while freshman Megan Hren added two.
Versus the Hornets (17-12) Brooks posted a career-high 27 digs to go along with her eight kills and one block assist. Freshman Annika Schwartz totaled a team-high 15 kills while adding 14 digs, four service aces and one solo block.
Miller finished with 12 kills and has totaled at least ten in four-straight matches. Meanwhile, Perillo finished with 27 digs and one service ace while Bollinger added 40 assists.
Stevenson, who finished undefeated for the third-straight year in the Commonwealth Conference, will open its title defense on Wednesday, November 5 at 7:00 p.m. The Mustangs will host the winner of Lycoming and Widener who play on Monday.
