Box Score 2 SWARTHMORE, Pa. - Stevenson women's volleyball senior Jessica Gieselman (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) was named tournament MVP as the Mustangs won their third tournament of the season, with a 25-13, 29-27, 25-11 victory over Hamilton and a 25-17, 25-10, 25-11 win against Vassar Sunday at the Garnet Classic.
The Mustangs (14-0) picked up their second tournament win this season and have won 14 consecutive matches to open the season, one shy of the school record. The 2008 team won 15 straight matches.
Gieselman finished the weekend with 147 assists, 30 digs, 20 kills while also adding 11 total blocks and two service aces. It is her third MVP honor.
In game one against Hamilton (1-6), senior Christine Isenberg (Taneytown, Md./Francis Scott Key) and sophomore Imani Hudson (Burke, Va./Thomas Edison) combined for 23 kills while Isenberg also added 10 digs.
Junior Samantha Perillo (Wilmington, Del./Wilmington Friends) finished with 11 digs.
In the championship match against Vassar (6-5), Hudson lead all players with 13 kills. Isenberg and Perillo combined for 26 digs.
Gieselman and junior Megan Miller (Middletown, Del./St. Georges Tech) both added five blocks each. Miller finished the weekend with 13 blocks.
Stevenson returns to action on Thursday, September 19 when they host a Commonwealth Conference contest with Messiah at Owings Mill Gymnasium beginning at 7:00 p.m. The Mustangs defeated the Falcons in straight sets a year ago to win their first conference title.
