Box Score OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Just hours after receiving the program's first-ever national ranking, the Stevenson women's volleyball team ran its Commonwealth Conference record to 11-0 in two seasons as the No. 25 Mustangs defeated Albright on the road Tuesday at the Bollman Center, 25-11, 25-19, 25-13.
For Stevenson (10-0, 2-0 MAC), it was the team's 10th consecutive sweep this season, moving the Mustangs one step closer to the school record of 17 set a year ago.
Sophomore Imani Hudson (Burke, Va./Thomas Edison) totaled a game-high 13 kills, marking the sixth time this season she has had 10 or more. As a team, Stevenson posted 44 kills and a .402 hitting percentage. Senior Christine Isenberg (Taneytown, Md./Francis Scott Key) and junior Megan Miller (Wilmington, Del./St. Georges) had seven kills apiece.
Senior Jessica Gieselman (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) added five kills to go along with 35 assists and eight digs while Hudson, Isenberg and sophomore Kara Anderson (Shrewsbury, Pa./Susquehannock) each had six. Anderson tied her season-high.
Junior Samantha Perillo (Wilmington, Del./Wilmington Friends) posted 25 digs, eclipsing the 1,300 mark her career. It was her fourth game this season with at least 20 digs and she now has 1,311 in two-plus seasons as a Mustang.
The Stevenson defense also totaled eight assisted blocks, including three by freshman Kelsey Stave (Bear, Del./St. Mark's), as the Mustangs limited the Lions (2-6, 0-2 MAC) to just 15 kills and a .053 hitting percentage.
Stevenson travels to Swarthmore, Pa., for the Garnet Classic this Saturday and Sunday. The Mustangs take on Vassar and the host Garnet on Saturday beginning at 4:00 p.m.
