OWINGS MILLS, Md. - On Saturday night, the Stevenson field hockey team was held without a goal for the first time since a 6-0 loss at No. 7 Messiah on Oct. 6, 2012 as the Mustangs were held to just five shots and couldn't capitalize on seven penalty corners in a 2-0 defeat to Arcadia at Mustang Stadium on Senior Night.

Stevenson (9-8, 3-3 MAC), who is still looking to the school record for wins in a season at 10, fell for the second time in the last three games at home and was held to its lowest shot total of the season.

Four of the Mustangs' five shots came from junior and leading scorer Caitlin Dempsey (Fallston, Md./Fallston) who had set new school records for goals and point in a season. Dempsey, who was one of four seniors honored prior to the game, was held without a point for just the third time this season.

Arcadia (10-5, 4-2 MAC) scored the game-winning goal just over eight minutes into the game when Katrina Dull scored her fifth of the season on an assist from Taylor Dalisera off a penalty corner. The 1-0 lead would hold until just under 15 minutes remaining in the game when Isabel Farfan netted her first of the year.

Both teams had only five shots in the contest while Stevenson held a 7-4 advantage in penalty corners. Freshman Gabriella Brooks (Bel Air, Md./Patterson Mill) made two saves while Brittany Hodson had to make just one for the Knights.

Stevenson, who currently sits in sixth place in the conference standings, wraps up its regular-season home schedule on Wednesday when it hosts 11th-ranked Messiah at Mustang Stadium beginning at 7:00 p.m. The top five teams advance to the 2013 Commonwealth Conference Field Hockey Championship.
