Box Score GETTYSBURG, Pa. - The Stevenson field hockey team allowed a season-high six goals, including four in the second half and two each to Liz Baron and Hannah Fitzgerald as the Mustangs dropped a non-conference road contest at Gettysburg Tuesday, 6-1.
Stevenson (7-5) was outshot 19-15, including 14-7 in the second half, and were not able to capitalize on an 11-5 advantage in penalty corners.
Junior Caitlin Dempsey (Fallston, Md./Fallston) scored her team leading 10th goal of the season while sophomores Melissa Doering (Street, Md./North Harford) and Rebecca Moreland (Parkville, Md./Mercy) notched three shots a piece.
The Bullets got on the board just nine minutes in as Ashleigh Guise connected from the left wing for her first goal of the year. Dempsey tied the game on a feed from Moreland with 17 minutes remaining before Fitzgerald gave Gettysburg the lead for good just four minutes later.
All four of the Bullets' second-half goals were unassisted, beginning with Baron's first just 28 seconds in. After Amanda Schlager added her first goal of the season, Fitzgerald and Baron each added their second tallies to cap the scoring.
Alexis Bralow saved six shots in goal for Gettysburg (4-4) while sophomore Katie Cavanaugh (Parkville, Md./Perry Hall) and freshman Gabriella Brooks (Bel Air, Md./Patterson Hill), combined for three for the Mustangs.
The Mustangs look to get back in the win column on Saturday as they host a Commonwealth Conference contest with Lebanon Valley at Mustang Stadium beginning at 7:30 p.m.
