IMMACULATA, Pa. - Stevenson field hockey junior Caitlin Dempsey (Fallston, Md./Fallston) scored the game winner with 18:13 remaining in the first half off a penalty corner feed from sophomore Ariella Hopp (Jarrettsville, Md./Institute of Notre Dame) as the Mustangs even their record to .500 with a 2-1 road win versus Immaculata at Draper Walsh Stadium Thursday afternoon.

Stevenson (5-5) is now 2-0 in the all-time series against the Mighty Macs as they defeated Immaculata 5-1 in the Black-Eyed Susan Tournament on Sept. 4, 2011.

Senior Kaitlyn May (Arnold, Md./Archbishop Spalding) opened up the scoring seven minutes in on a helper from sophomore Brooke Few (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll).

The Mustangs led at halftime 2-0 with a 10-1 advantage in penalty corners and an 8-2 shot advantage.

Immaculata (0-8) has lost 11 consecutive games dating back to Oct. 26, 2011.

Ashley O'Donnell scored the lone goal for the Mighty Macs on a penalty stroke against reserve sophomore goalkeeper Katelynn DeFiore (Salisbury, Md./James M. Bennett) 11:41 into the second half.

Freshman goalkeeper Katie Cavanaugh (Parkville, Md./Perry Hall) and DeFiore each made one save while Immaculata's Patsy Murphy made six.

Stevenson concludes its three-game road trip Saturday as it opens up Commonwealth Conference play against Arcadia.  Game time is 1:00 p.m.
