CHESTERTOWN, Md. - Stevenson women's volleyball freshman Imani Hudson (Burke, Va./Thomas Edison) totaled a career-high 13 kills versus Gettysburg while senior Kristen Lubeski (Bishopville, Md./Stephen Decatur) had 11 kills and five block assists against host Washington (Md.) as the Mustangs posted victories versus the Bullets and Shorewomen.
The Mustangs (15-1) have now won 12-straight, seven shy of the school record of 19 set by last year's team. Over the last two seasons, Stevenson has posted a 46-5 overall record.
Against Gettysburg (9-6), senior Avery Gabbard (Arnold, Md./Broadneck) totaled a game-high 14 kills to go along with nine digs. Sophomore Samantha Perillo (Wilmington, Del./Wilmington Friends) had 12 digs while junior Christine Isenberg (Taneytown, Md./Francis Scott Key) had six kills and six digs.
Freshman Kelly McKenzie (Nanticoke, Md./James Bennett) added three kills and three block assists. Junior Jessica Gieselman (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) had 40 assists and six digs.
In the second game versus Washington (7-8), the Mustangs were led by 11 kills each from Lubeski and Isenberg. Gabbard had seven kills, seven digs and three block assists while Isenberg also added seven digs and Hudson totaled eight digs.
Gieselman had three kills, 38 assists, seven digs and three blocks assists for Stevenson who rallied from an 11-4 deficit in the third set.
Stevenson returns home to face Johns Hopkins on Tuesday at Owings Mills Gymnasium where the team is 7-0 this season. The Blue Jays handed the Mustangs their only loss of the season in the championship game of the Giovanni Memorial Tournament hosted by Goucher on September 2.
