Box Score OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Stevenson women's volleyball freshman Imani Hudson (Burke, Va./Thomas Edison) recorded 12 kills as the Mustangs when their fifth straight game 25-17, 25-7, 25-15 over Albright Tuesday night at Owings Mills Gymnasium.
Through nine games Stevenson (8-1, 2-0 MAC), for the third consecutive year, has opened their season with an 8-1 start.
Hudson's 12 kills is a career-high, one more than her previous high of 11 against Johns Hopkins in the championship of the Giovanni Memorial Tournament on September 2.
The Mustangs led the game start to finish never surrendering the lead and forcing the Lions (1-4, 0-2 MAC) to a season low minus-.057 attack percentage.
Junior Jessica Gieselman (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) totaled 34 assists and one block assist. Senior Kristen Lubeski (Bishopville, Md./Stephen Decatur) had six kills and two total blocks.
Junior Christine Isenberg (Taneytown, Md./Francis Scott Key) had five kills and eight digs, while sophomore libero Samantha Perillo (Wilmington, Del./Wilmington Friends) had 15 digs.
Albright was led by reigning Commonwealth Conference Player of the Week, Alyssa Hoogendoorn who recorded five kills and three digs. Casey McFadden had 12 assists.
Stevenson travels Thursday to face defending Commonwealth Conference champion Lebanon Valley. The Dutchmen were swept by Messiah earlier this evening 25-18, 25-19, 25-17. The Falcons, Dutchmen and Mustangs were picked first, second and third in the preseason coaches' poll.
