SALISBURY, Md. - Stevenson women's volleyball junior Christine Isenberg (Taneytown, Md./Francis Scott Key) had nine kills and eight digs, but the Mustangs' best season ever came to an end in the second round of the NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Championship with a 25-23, 25-18, 25-22 loss to No. 22 Eastern Saturday at Salisbury University's Maggs Physical Activities Center.

Stevenson (36-3) suffered just its third loss of the season and first since a 3-2 defeat to then-No. 9 SUNY Cortland on September 28, snapped a school-record 20-game win streak. The loss also marked the first time since a 3-2 win over the Eagles on September 29 that the Mustangs had lost a set, snapping a 52-set win streak.

Eastern (30-5), champions of the Freedom Conference, posted a .326 hitting percentage and 14 total blocks, limiting Stevenson to a .228 hitting percentage while forcing 16 errors.

Senior Kristen Lubeski (Bishopville, Md./Stephen Decatur) and freshman Imani Hudson (Burke, Va./Thomas Edison) each had eight kills and combined to post a .448 hitting percentage.

Senior Avery Gabbard (Arnold, Md./Broadneck) totaled seven kills and six digs in her final collegiate contest, finishing her career with a school record 1,369 kills and 1,145 digs which is a record for a non-libero. She is also the first player in school history to surpass 1,000 career kills and 1,000 career digs.

Meanwhile, sophomore Samantha Perillo (Wilmington, Del./Wilmington Friends) had 17 digs and has totaled 1,157 in her first two seasons.

Junior Jessica Gieselman (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) totaled five kills, 31 assists and six digs and finished with a school record 1,397 this season. In three seasons, she has totaled a school record 3,314 career assists.

The Eagles, who will play host and top-seeded Salisbury in the regional final on Sunday, was led by Erin Hillman who had 12 kills. Rikki Schlager contributed 32 assists while Rachel Wenger had four block assists and Kearby Benak had three.
