Box Score GRANTHAM, Pa. - Stevenson field hockey freshman Katie Cavanaugh (Parkville, Md./Perry Hall) made 12 saves, but Messiah's Emily Hursh scored five points with two goals and one assist to lead the seventh-ranked Falcons to a 6-0 victory Saturday at Anderson Field.
Stevenson (5-7, 1-2 MAC) had its best scoring chances came in the opening 10 minutes of the second half when sophomore Margaret Gill (White Hall, Md./Hereford) and freshman Rebecca Moreland (Parkville, Md./Mercy) each had shots on goal that were saved by Messiah's Molly Gebrosky for her only saves of the game.
Five different players scored for Messiah (8-3, 3-0 MAC) who held a 30-4 advantage in shots and a 13-3 margin in penalty corners. Hursh scored her team-leading sixth and seventh goals of the season and now leads the team with 16 points.
The Falcons scored three goals in each half as Cavanaugh totaled five and seven saves, respectively.
Stevenson will play its second consecutive nationally-ranked opponent when it hosts No. 21 Gettysburg at Mustang Stadium on Wednesday. Game time is at 4:00 p.m.
