OWINGS MILLS, Md. - The trio of Joe Meehan, Danny Brooks and Jordan Stewart combined for 66 of Lebanon Valley's 81 points and 25 of the team's 33 rebounds as the Dutchmen posted an 81-60 victory Saturday over the Stevenson men's basketball team in a match-up of future Commonwealth Conference rivals at Owings Mills Gymnasium.
Brooks totaled 22 points, 16 rebounds and four blocks while Meehan added 24 points, three rebounds and seven assists and Stewart had 20 points and six rebounds.
The Mustangs (3-9), who suffered their eighth-straight home loss dating back to Jan. 8, 2011, were led by 13 points each from juniors Brandon Carroll (Randallstown, Md./Archbishop Curley) and Brett Burrier (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill).
Lebanon Valley (8-5) shot 56.6 percent from the floor, including 63.6 percent from three-point range, hitting on 7-of-11 attempts.
Leading 19-18 with 7:59 remaining in the first half, the Dutchmen closed the first half on a 27-5 run to take a 46-24 halftime lead.
Brooks, Meehan and Stewart combined for all but five of Lebanon Valley's 46 first half points with Brooks and Meehan scoring 14 each and Stewart adding 13. Brooks achieved his double double with just under two minutes to play in the opening half, finishing with 10 rebounds.
Sophomore Jason Jones (Baltimore, Md./St. Francis) totaled nine points and six rebounds while senior Greg Collins (Baltimore, Md./Western Tech) had seven points and six rebounds. Sophomore Stefon McCray (Milton, Fla./Archbishop Curley) also had six rebounds.
Stevenson travels to Wesley on Monday for a CAC contest with the Wolverines beginning at 8:00 p.m.
