Box Score YORK, Pa. - Stevenson women's volleyball sophomore Jessica Gieselman (Westminster/Winters Mill) was selected as the CAC Volleyball Player of the Week on Monday after leading the Mustangs to a perfect 3-0 record last week, including a pair of CAC road victories at Marymount (Va.) and St. Mary's (Md.).
Gieselman totaled 17 kills, 105 assists, three service aces, 32 digs and seven block assists. She had nine kills, 21 assists and eight digs in a 25-16, 25-14, 25-19 victory at Marymount (Va.) and four kills, 39 assists and eight digs in a 25-8, 25-5, 23-25, 25-17 win over the Seahawks.
Gieselman leads the CAC in assists at 9.84 per set while ranking sixth in service aces. In two seasons, she has totaled 1,214 assists and has been named CAC Player of the Week three times. She also earned the honor on Sept. 7, 2010 and Sept. 27, 2010.
Stevenson returns to action tonight at McDaniel in a made-up contest from September 7 that was canceled because of heavy rain and flooding in the Baltimore area. The Mustangs are 1-1 against the Green Terror under fifth-year head coach Dave Trumbo following last year's 25-7, 25-11, 25-10 victory at home.
McDaniel posted a 25-21, 25-15, 2-16 win at the Gill Center on Sept. 3, 2009.
